The Get Ready for series is published by Andrew Brodie, a subsidiary of A&C Black. Each has about 40 pages, with a page of information on each aspect of thre curriculum followed by half a dozen or so pages of example activities. Very digestible, and a quick way to comprehend what your child should be learning and (through doing the activities with them) how they are getting on.

Year Six is an important year in the life of any child.
In the last year of Junior school, children and their parents look forward
to Senior school and new issues arise:
Does my child
need extra help with his English?
Her class teacher
just doesn't have time to help her with the basics.
He just can't
